We attended the HEAT International Bootcamp in March 2025

 

What happens in San Pedro...

The Cork Dragons set sail (well, flew) to San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain, for the HEAT International Bootcamp led by the dynamic duo, Liz and Pat Bradley. Huge thanks to the amazing organisers, especially Ann and Carmel, who kept the ship sailing smoothly — even when the weather tried to rain on our parade!

Despite a soggy start, we paddled through with plenty of laughs, and the week turned into one of the best training experiences we’ve ever had. We can’t wait to put everything we learned into practice — watch out, water!

But it wasn’t all sweat and paddles... oh no:

• Sea swimming for the fearless (and slightly mad).

• Long walks — some accidental, thanks to "creative" navigation.

• Karaoke and DJ nights that unleashed our inner rockstars.

• A moshpit (yes, really).

• Birthday celebrations — cake and chaos included.

• The Mediterranean Cruise — not quite a dragon boat, but we managed.

• Restaurant adventures — with a literal "Rock the Boat" moment (you had to be there).

• Video feedback day — where we relived the glory and the giggles.

 

It was a week to remember, filled with friendship, fun, and a few sore muscles. Same time next year?  Roll on 2026
