Ocean to City – An Rás Mór is Cork’s annual maritime rowing and paddling race, celebrating Cork’s long and proud relationship with the water. It’s one of Ireland’s largest and most diverse rowing events, welcoming everything from dragon boats, kayaks, canoes, currachs, gigs, and longboats to modern rowing shells.
The race follows a spectacular route from Crosshaven at the mouth of Cork Harbour, through Cobh, Monkstown, Passage West, and Blackrock, finishing in the heart of the city on Lapp’s Quay.
Participants range from serious competitive crews to fun community teams — all cheered on by lively crowds along the quays and bridges. The event is part of the Cork Harbour Festival, and it celebrates teamwork, endurance, and Cork’s maritime heritage.
The Cork Dragons have proudly paddled in this thrilling 26km race each year since 2016.
